Homecoming @ 10:00 pm

Thursday night there was a small reception for the Class of 1984 before the pep rally.  During this, a few of us watched the Seniors play the "Coaches" (a few extra to fill out the team).  The Seniors won.  During the pep rally, our class was honored and we were individually introduced.  The Homecoming Court was also introduced, then the cheerleaders and the dance team did there performances while the band played.  The band also had their time in the spotlight.

During the day Friday, I drove around the local area visiting some of the places I remember from when I lived here.  There was another reception before the game for our class.  Most of us were escorting the members of the Homecoming Court.  One my my classmates was in from Las Vegas where he had just finished a successful prosecution.  Another (while living local) flew in from Maine.  I was third in distance travelled.  The game was great.  We were right on the field (if at the 20 yard line) and the team won.  The halftime performance was great.  We have a new field and a high-tech track so we now use golf carts instead of convertibles to transport the Court, but it was still quite the event.  After the game, there was a reception for all classes that, while sparsely attended, was interesting.

The next morning, I was on a flight to Columbus for the OVFF (Ohio Valley Filk Festival).

I'm glad I made the trip.  I would have liked to have seen a bonfire, but I can understand how that would be problematic.
